Maintenance
Welcome to the Maintenance & Custodial Department
The Maintenance and Custodial Department maintain all buildings and grounds owned by the Bigfork Schools District #38. This includes all educational facilities, the administrative office, transportation/maintenance buildings and equipment.
Our duties throughout the school year are quite varied and can include anything from changing light bulbs to remodeling classrooms. In addition each employee is available for general maintenance duties such as snow removal, deliveries, and assisting in the setup of special events.
Classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms get a deep clean over the summer and many of the floors get waxed. In addition, more extensive projects are handled during this time when there is less activity on campus.
Here is a list of some of the projects that were completed during the summer of 2025:
- Sewer line repair in both school buildings was completed.
- Damaged siding was replaced on an exterior wall.
- Painters finished phase 1 of 3 to have all elementary school exterior buildings painted, as well as painted 9 classrooms and two hallways.
- Floor was replaced, walls painted and new toilets were installed in one of the elementary school bathrooms.
- Flooring was replaced in bathrooms by the football field and in two classrooms.
- New blinds were installed in some of our classrooms.
- Concrete steps leading to the school garden were removed and replaced.
- Stairs leading to the football field were replaced with new metal ones.
- School parking lots were cleaned and a section from the elementary school parking lot all the way to the parking lot behind the high school was seal coated.
- Floors in the middle school bathrooms as well as in the shop were painted.
- The high school shop sawdust bin was cleaned and serviced.
- Rooftop heating and AC were cleaned and serviced.
