Food Service Program Update - notification from Bigfork Schools on July 3rd, 2024

Families and Staff:

Bigfork School District qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision free meals (CEP) when OPI changed the percentage eligibility threshold from 40% to 25%. The application opened June 1. and based on the reimbursement formula, Bigfork School District would have to pay $130,000 to support free meals for ALL students. The Food Service Program would not be able to operate at a $130,000 loss per year. Therefore, we will continue to have families fill out the applications as they do every year to qualify for free and reduced meals. The application is located on the district website: www.bigforkschools.org.

School meal rates for the 2024-2025 school year:

K-6     breakfast = $1.75   reduced breakfast = $ .30     lunch = $2.75       reduced lunch = $ .40
 

7-12    breakfast = $2.00   reduced breakfast = $ .30      lunch = $3.25        reduced lunch = $ .40

Please fill out the free/reduced meal form for 2024-2025. A new form needs to be filled out every year.

Food Allergies statement

If your student has food allergies or a special dietary need, be assured that meeting these needs and keeping your student safe remains a priority for us, and we will continue to provide meal modifications. If your student requires a meal modification, please download and fill out this form and send it to Roger Vanlandingham FSD, PO Box 188, Bigfork, MT. 59911.
