Bigfork National History Day students had another adventure-filled and successful trip to Nationals in DC in June! Students who partook in this experience were Vander Barnes, Kinsey Bradstreet, Rye Peterson, Curtis Scherfenberg, and Lillianna Suffia.
The competition was fierce with 600,000 students globally participating in this event. The final result is 1500 of the nation’s most outstanding high school students competing for the top three spots in their categories under the theme, “Revolution, Reaction, Reform.”
Our Website group was witty, thoughtful and reflective in their interview with the judges and provoked genuine interest from their judges on the topic of public perception of the Vigilantes over the course of US History.
We are excited to report that our Documentary group was awarded Best in State for their work on Magic Johnson’s interview with Connie Chung right after he announced he was HIV positive. The ladies were poised, professional, and passionate in their defense of their thesis, and the product they presented was outstanding. They were named 2nd place in their flight, which means they are in the Top 20% of the country.
We are grateful to our community and colleagues for their support in this journey, as it could not be accomplished without teachers’ patience and encouragement, administrative support, and community involvement.
